Here are a few ways to explore the natural world in NYC and beyond (July 9 –13 , 2016):
Go Outside
- Hike through Forest Park with Urban Park Rangers
- Beachcomb on NYC’s 14 miles of beaches
- Suit up and meet 50,000 bees in Wave Hill

Listen
- Monday July 11: listen to Heather Wolf read from her new book Birding at the Bridge: In Search of Every Bird on the Brooklyn Waterfront
- Wednesday July 13: join the Secret Science Club and astrophysicist Priyamvada Natarajan for an exploration of black holes and dark matter
Read
- The New York Times delves into the New York Whale Census
- Check out your fellow New Yorkers’ strange and beautiful views
- Then re-acquaint yourself with your own piece of sky
Traci, what a great job you of making it easy for people to experience nature. I really like your idea of breaking out the categories (Go Outside, Listen, Read) … absolutely no excuse now! 🙂
