Notice the Ephemeral: Roses

Roses are blooming across the boroughs of NYC. Last week I smelled the sweet fragrance of seaside roses (Rosa rugosa) in the dunes behind Plumb Beach.

You can find rosesΒ blooming along the greenest neighborhood blocks, Β Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Rose Garden, and the New York Botanic Garden’s Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden. Rose blooms should peak in the next week or so.

Here’s a reminder to notice the ephemeral. Now is the best time to linger and smell the roses.
